Our Story
Founded in 2020
Union Tribe was founded during the global lockdown. At a time when the world stood still, founder Emily L. Collins found herself traveling more than ever — moving through empty airports, guided by an inner call she couldn’t ignore. She began connecting with shamans both physically and virtually, and her psychic senses began to open in unexpected ways.
Living in Washington, DC at the time, she felt a deep call to bring the shamanic arts to the city. As she stepped forward, she discovered a vibrant but fragmented community of practitioners, healers, and seekers who didn’t yet know each other. So she began weaving the web.
She began organizing outdoor meetups in the summer of 2020. With a large canvas, paints, and open invitations, she encouraged collective art-making in the parks. That fall, her dream of bringing shamanic teachings to her local circle became reality.
In the years that followed, Union Tribe continued its work in DC under the leadership of other powerful women, as Emily traveled around the world learning, sharing, and listening. Five years later, the calling returned — this time to gather the tribe again, globally, integrating all the spiritual traditions she'd encountered into a shared path of development, creativity, and community.
What began as a whisper in a lockdown has become a living global movement — and you're invited to be part of it.
Meet the Founder
Emily L. Collins is a filmmaker, spiritual guide, and community pollinator who blends ancient wisdom with modern vision. Before founding Union Tribe, Emily spent over a decade working in senior living communities, where many of her closest relationships were with elders from the Greatest Generation. Her first teachers were in their 80s and 90s — wise, funny, filled with grace and persective. That time instilled in her a deep reverence for life, storytelling, and legacy.
Her spiritual journey required a profound transition — one that involved letting go of societal definitions of success and stability, and questioning religious frameworks she had inherited about God, humanity, and our place in the universe. That unraveling opened the doorway to something deeper: a direct, lived connection to the mystery of life, spirit, and her own intuition.
Her path then opened through years of work with plant coniouness, spiritual development, and mentorship from shamans around the world. During the lockdown, while most of the world stayed still, she traveled — both inwardly and outwardly — moving through empty airports and opening new channels of perception. What began as personal awakening quickly expanded into a global mission., spiritual guide, and community pollinator who blends ancient wisdom with modern vision. With a background in ceremony, art, and global travel, she founded Union Tribe in 2020 to help people remember their true nature — not through dogma, but through experience, creativity, and community.
